Assist the Director of the Culinary Center with the financial affairs of the plant with preparation of financial analysis of operations, including budgeting, financial statements and supporting schedules that will drive business decisions on a daily basis. Provide “Real Time” data and updated KPI’s in support of the “Continuous Improvement” process.
Serve as the process owner and become the Champion for the full implementation of the ERP system, driving seamless, accurate financial results on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Financial Planning and Analysis.
Monitor all general ledger entries, establish relationships with Cumberland Farms payroll, AP as well as AR functions.
Preparation and analysis of monthly Profit and Loss (P&L), budgets and interim forecasts which includes monitoring daily performance, analyzing operating results and making recommendations that will optimize facility profitability. Present monthly P&L and variance analysis to Leadership Team.
Prepare annual budget in accordance with FP&A budget calendar.
Monitor and ensure robust inventory process and reporting.
Responsible for identifying cost and revenue opportunities which will support achievement of the Culinary Center’s financial goals.
Drive financial accountability in all Plant functions and costs from material, labor as well as supplies and services.
Guide, motivate and develop the leadership team as it relates to financial acumen.
Plan, implement and control the cost and project budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
Complete projects as assigned.
Accurate and timely daily, weekly, monthly reporting, budgeting and update forecast
Mentor team as the Subject Matter Expert on Profitability in the plant
Compliance with internal guidelines, policies, and strategies
Working Relationships:Key Interfaces: (internal, external) Internal: Plant and/or business unit management, Headquarters Finance and Accounting, Sales, Operational Excellence, Procurement, Program Management, auditors External: customers, vendors, auditors.
Minimum Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or related major field of study
Minimum Experience:At least 5 to 10 years prior experience in a similar role with specific knowledge and direct experience related o to overseeing the financial function in a manufacturing environment. (Preferably food manufacturing).
In depth knowledge of variable production cost controls, including labor, COG’s as well as all P&L line items.
Experience supervising and developing high functioning staff members.
Significant knowledge in “Lean Manufacturing”
Six Sigma experience and a strong understanding of DMAIC methodologies a plus
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Experience with Hyperion or similar budgeting and reporting platforms preferred.
Excellent quantitative/analytical, communication (i.e. written and verbal) skills.
Must be able to work cross functionally and lead/influence others, including third parties in a supply chain
